From unable to balance to riding independently
I just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU for all the sessions you delivered to our Year 3 and 4 pupils. You braved weather, school events, absences, and timetable adjustments. Thank you for your resolve, flexibility and high-quality delivery. It was very much appreciated.
Thank you also to everyone in the background, organising and providing logistics.
And most importantly the children really benefitted! I’ve just crunched the numbers….
In Year 4, 41 out of 45 moved from being unable to balance to doing so and pedalling from a rolling start and in Year 3, 50 out of 60 moved from being unable to balance to doing so and pedalling from a rolling start.
I hope this data is useful and validates what you already know, you had a BIG IMPACT.

From training sessions to everyday cycling
I just wanted to pass on my thanks for the fantastic training you gave my son on a recent cycle training course for Year 6's at Breadsall CE Primary school.
As well as thoroughly enjoying the week, his cycling skills and confidence have improved tremendously. He now rides a sensible distance away from the kerb and uses his 'observation skills'. His road sense has improved significantly not only when riding a bike, but is also obvious when he is a car passenger by the comments he makes about other road users.
Many of the other Year 6 parents have mentioned what a good course they thought it was. You've obviously inspired several of his school friends who have recently started to cycle to and from school. Can you please pass on my thanks to all at Cycle Derby.

From school cyclo-cross to regional competition
Sarah first got the buzz for cycling when she took part in one of Cycle Derby's organised cyclo-cross races aged just 9. Her dad helped us unload our van of bikes and that was it!
She joined her local club, raced in the local cyclo-cross leagues, had a go on the track and mountain bike - and some six years later at the age of 15 Sarah is representing the East Midlands Cycling Team in the UK School Games.
